Paul E. Gallup, age 92, formerly of 416 Oak St., Ridgway, died Wednesday morning January 23, 2019, at Ridgmont Personal Care. He was born October 12, 1926, in Kane, son of the late Eben and Mildred (Cook) Gallup. He married Ruth L. Lindgren on May 26, 1950, she preceded him in death on April 2, 2006. He resided in Ridgway all his life and was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Boy Scout Troop #93 and the Elk Lodge #379. He was a graduate of Ridgway High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of WW II. He had been employed by Alltel for 40 years.
He is survived by 3 granddaughters: Kerrie K. (Michael) Cowan of Ridgway, Susan K. (Jeffery) Baird of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Rachel E. King of Ridgway, his son-in-law Thomas W. King of Ridgway, 5 great grandchildren: Max, Madeline, Jack, Garret, and Benjamin, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Gallup King and 1 brother David Gallup.
A Memorial Service for Paul E. Gallup will be private. Burial will be at Oakmont Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Ridgway Ambulance or to the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
