William D. “Bill” Kinkead, Jr., age 84, of 410 Hickory St., Ridgway, died Tuesday afternoon, December 18, 2018, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born April 22, 1934, in Ridgway, son of the late William D. and Ada (Brocklehurst) Kinkead, Sr. He married Pearl P. Palumbo on July 28, 1956, she preceded him in death on December 29, 2017. He resided in Ridgway all of his life and was a graduate of Ridgway High School. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he had been an usher. He was also involved in the Boy Scouts and had been in the Navy Reserves. He had been employed as a licensed Land Surveyor, retired from SGL Carbon after 26 years, and kept the grass at St. Leo’s Cemetery looking beautiful for many years.
He is survived by 1 son William D. Kinkead III of Ridgway, 3 grandsons: Kyle Kinkead of Wheeling, WV and friend Jordan Raubenstrauch of Ridgway, Justin Kinkead of Ridgway, and Brandon Kinkead of Ridgway, 1 sister Martha “Betty” Kinkead of Ridgway, 2 brothers: Sam (Kay) Kinkead of Ridgway and Jerry Kinkead of Ridgway, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Roberta Kinkead.
Funeral and Committal Services for William D. Kinkead, Jr. will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Thayer Memorial Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
