Andrew J. Santaniello, age 77, of 244 High Ave., Ridgway, died Wednesday evening, January 20, 2021, at his residence. He was born September 5, 1943, in Johnsonburg, son of the late Andrew G. and Margaret (Solomon) Santaniello. He married Mary S. Anderson on July 8, 1967, she preceded him in death on February 27, 2003. He resided in Ridgway most of his life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, the Ridgway American Legion and V.F.W., and the Piedmont Club in Johnsonburg. He loved spending time with family, playing pool, and watching football, especially the Colts. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He had been employed by Stackpole Carbon for 22 years and Keystone Carbon for 17 years.
He is survived by 1 son Steven M. Santaniello and his companion Laura Miller of Johnsonburg, 1 daughter Susan M. (Robert) Kindle of Erie, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters: Valerie Santaniello of Wilcox, Cecilia Weaver of North Lima, OH, Delores (Bruce) Lindgren of Johnsonburg, Mary Nicklas of St. Marys, and Rita Gahr of St. Marys, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 1 brother Anthony Santaniello, and 4 sisters: Ann Struble, Kathleen Wilson, Elizabeth McClain, and Teresa Bauer.
Funeral and Committal Services for Andrew J. Santaniello will be Private with Military Honors accorded by the Ridgway Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Officiating will be Fr. Justin P. Pino, Pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
