Arveta H. Carson, age 93, went to be with her Lord on March 27, 2021, at Ridgmont Personal Care Home.  She was born the daughter of Clarence J. and Hazel B. (Dunkle) Holmberg on April 19, 1927, in Ridgway, PA.  She married Todd L. Carson on May 28, 1949, who preceded her in death on January 2, 1999.  She graduated from the Ridgway Area Schools and after graduation went to work at the Home Telephone Company (now Windstream) from which she retired in 1980 after 36 years of faithful service.  She loved God and lived her life through her faith.  She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother, and her love and kindnesses were always shared with all her extended family and friends and acquaintances she was blessed to have in her life.  She always worked hard and left tons of special and happy memories for everyone to hold in their hearts as she took her final journey Home.

She is survived by five of her children, Richard (Liv) Carson, Oklahoma; Marilyn (Harold) Fiscus,  Ridgway; Sharon (George) Umphlett, Greensburg, PA; John (Donna) Carson, Ridgway; and Cindy (David) Blades, Seaford, DE.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, a brother Gayle Holmberg, Hendersonville, NC, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Robert Carson, 3 brothers, Clarence Holmberg (Junior), Merle Holmberg, Ronald Holmberg, and a nephew, Bradley Holmberg.

A Private Memorial Service for Arveta H. Carson will be held at the New Hope in Christ Church on Gillis Avenue for the family.  Officiating will be Rev. Edward Burkett, Pastor of the New Hope in Christ Church.  Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Ridgmont Personal Care Home or to The New Hope in Christ Church.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.  Share your online condolences at thompsonfuneralhomepa.com
