Glenn M. "Tootie" Olay, age 88, of 502 Sheridan St. Ridgway, died Sunday evening, November 28, 2021, at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys following a lengthy illness. He was born April 9, 1933, in Ridgway, son of the late Lloyd R. and Elaine P. (Bloom) Olay. He married Phyllis C. Johnson on February 14, 1958, she survives. He resided in Ridgway all his life and was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the American Legion, the V.F.W., and the Eagles Club in Ridgway. He enjoyed Dutchland, golfing, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family. He was a graduate of Ridgway High School. He had been employed by Ridgway Color for 43 years.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis C. Olay of Ridgway, 5 children: Mark (Debbie) Olay of Tehachapi, CA, Mary (Dean) Stokes of Prescott, AZ, Herb (Shelli) Olay of Ridgway, Scott Olay of Brockport, and Steve Olay of Ridgway; 3 grandchildren: Ron (Kerri), Dawn, and Amy, 4 great-grand-children, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter Marcella Haliday, 3 brothers: Lloyd “Junior” and his wife Ann, James and his wife Noma, and Richard “Dick” Olay, and 1 sister-in-law Lois Johnson Fjeld.
A Celebration of the Life of Glenn M. Olay will be held at a time and place to be announced. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Ridgway Ambulance or to the Ridgway Fire Dept.
