Jill M. Steis, age 74, of 332 Dewey Circle, Ridgway, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois following a brief illness. She was born July 2, 1947, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Norbert J. And Peggy J. (Brownlee) Thorwart, Jr. She resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a member of the Elk County Historical Society. She was a 1965 graduate of Ridgway High School.

She is survived by 1 son Matthew R. Steis of Ridgway, 1 sister Jane E. (Ed) Flannigan of Mercer, PA, 1 brother John R. Thorwart of Ridgway, and 4 nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby girl in 1970, 1 brother James A. Thorwart, and 1 nephew.

Funeral Services for Jill M. Steis will be private. Burial will be at Thayer Memorial Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Elk County Historical Society, 109 Center St., Ridgway, PA. 15853. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
