Kenneth L. Carnahan, age 87, of 7768 Laurel Mill Rd., Ridgway, died Sunday, November 14, 2021, in Stow, OH, at the home of his son, following a brief illness. He was born April 7, 1934, in Montour Falls, NY, son of the late Raymond T. and Esther A. (Lance) Carnahan. He married Joyce A. Dunn on May 28, 1955, she preceded him in death.
He resided in Ridgway most of his life and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the NRA, the Pennsylvania Trappers Association, and the Island Run Sportsmen’s Club. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and mowers, farming, planting corn and vegetables, and making hay. Ken and his wife liked walking down Bear Creek Road and picking up the trash. He skipped second and seventh grade and was a graduate of Ridgway High School Class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Peacetime Veteran. He had been employed by Boscol Tool for 30 years.
He is survived by 2 sons Lance K. Carnahan of Stow, OH and Neal O. (Deidre) Carnahan of Harrisburg, NC, 3 grandchildren Kara, Krista, and Tyler, a great-grandson Richie, 1 brother James (Jean) Carnahan of Valois, NY, 1 sister Patricia Galbreath of Greenville, SC, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 1 brother Gary Carnahan.
Funeral Services for Kenneth L. Carnahan will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Military Honor’s accorded by the Ridgway Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew Williams, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Lake City Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the donor’s choice.
