Margaret M. Gustitus, age 92, of 515 Cherry Ave., Ridgway and formerly of DuBois, died January 30, 2021, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born August 3, 1928, in DuBois, daughter of the late Anthony and Amelia (Azukas) Kumetis. She was married to John C. Gustitus for 49 years and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2011. She resided in Ridgway for 5 1/2 years and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Polka Boosters. She enjoyed baking, cooking, Bingo, reading, fishing, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She was a graduate of DuBois High School.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Christine M. (Matthew) Rakolta of Pittsburgh, Diana E. (Timothy) Myers of Erie, Debra A. (Andrew) Maruschak of Morrisdale, PA, and Jeanne A. Gustitus of Ridgway; 3 grandchildren: Colin, Ashley, and Kara; 1 step-grandchild Amanda, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Veronica and Helen, and 3 brothers: Frank, Tony, and Bill.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret M. Gustitus will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Fr. Brian E. Vossler, Pastor of St. George Catholic Church in Erie. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in DuBois. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Ridgway Public Library or to St. Leo School. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
