Obituary

Mary Eleanor (Ony) Stilwell, 93, of Ridgway, passed away on December 21, 2020, at the Grove City Medical Center, in Grove City following a lengthy illness.

Ony was born April 2, 1927, in Ridgway, daughter of Paul A. and Bertha M. (Volk) DeVoge. She married Leslie Stilwell on January 21, 1956, who preceded her in death on January 20, 2014.

She lived in Ridgway her whole life, and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. She loved animals, and she and her husband, Les, were constantly bringing home stray animals, and caring for them until just the right family was found to adopt and love them.

Ony was a dedicated mother who treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nanni. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. Her smile lit up any room she walked into.

She is survived by her four children, Kim Anderson (Andrew) of Pittsburgh, Paul Stilwell (Karen) of Ridgway, Greg Stilwell (Joanne) of Coraopolis, and Anne Jaskowak (Charles) of Grove City; 14 grandchildren, Brian, Elise and Joseph Anderson of Pittsburgh, Maureen Anderson (Colin) of Philadelphia, Amber Stilwell (Drew) of Erie, Louis and Robert Stilwell of Ridgway, Shawn Thomas (Malia) of Ashburn, VA, Nicholas Stilwell of Coraopolis, Brother Maximilian Jaskowak, of Washington, DC, Daniel Jaskowak of Blacksburg, VA, Mary Jaskowak of Erie, Catherine Jaskowak of Waynesboro, and Charles Jaskowak of Grove City;  1 great grandchild, Parker Thomas of Ashburn, VA; and a sister Norma McDonson of Ridgway.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister Alice Marie Thompson.
