Nellie B. Viglione, age 95, formerly of 934 North Broad St., Ridgway, died Sunday morning, March 13, 2022, at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born September 3, 1926, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Wesley and Nellie (Moore) Jones. She was married to Michael J. Viglione, Sr. who preceded her in death.
She resided in Ridgway most of her life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. She loved playing Bingo and spending time with her family. She was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School Class of 1944. She had been employed by Stackpole, G.C. Murphy, was a Nurse’s Aid, and retired from Sylvania.
She is survived by 1 daughter Patricia Vanslander (Bill Krieg) of St. Marys, 2 sons Frank (Kim) Viglione of DuBois and Kris (Mary) Viglione of Ridgway, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, 1 daughter Linda Johnson, 2 sons Kurt Viglione and Michael Viglione, Jr., 1 granddaughter Vanessa Viglione, 5 brothers: Jack, James, Jerome, Darrell, and Tom Jones, 1 sister Betty Mae McNutt, a half sister Delores Moore, and a half brother Corsi Jones.
Funeral Services for Nellie B. Viglione will be held at the convenience of the family. Officiating will be Fr. Justin P. Pino, Pastor of St Leo Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Leo Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Ridgway Ambulance Corp. or to the Ridgway Fire Dept. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
