Richard K. “Rocky” Retzer, age 61, of 86 Longview Dr., Ridgway, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 1, 1961, in Ridgway, son of the late Richard L. And June LaVonne (Bushey) Retzer. He married Toni M. Garza on May 1, 1999, she survives.
He resided in Ridgway all of his life and was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boy Scout Troop 93 where he was a Scout Master, Elkland Search and Rescue, the American Legion, and the St. Marys Trap and Skeet League. He was a graduate of Ridgway High School Class of 1979. He had been employed by Domtar for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife Toni M. Retzer of Ridgway, 1 son Adam R. Retzer (Bethany Ford) of Ridgway, 3 stepchildren: Sidnie Burson of Ridgway, Colby Spyres of Marysville, CA, Chelsea Spyres of Ridgway; 6 step grandchildren: Izzy Collins of Byrnedale, PA, Harper Delhunty of Ridgway, Allora Geyer of St. Marys, Rori Delhunty of Ridgway, Mikhail Burson of Ridgway, and Katarina Burson of Ridgway; 1 brother Daniel L. Retzer of South Carolina; and 2 nephews Kyle and Kaleb Retzer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service for Richard K. “Rocky” Retzer will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 7:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Susan Fox, Pastor of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home from 5 PM until the time of the service at 7 PM.
