Robert F. Aiello, age 86, of 418 Oak St., Ridgway, died early Tuesday morning, January 5, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois. He was born April 20, 1934, in Johnsonburg, son of the late Gennaro and Frances (Chirillo) Aiello. He married Rosa Villella in Motta Santa Lucia, Italy on September 1, 1966, she survives. He lived in Ridgway most of his life and was a former Johnsonburg resident. He was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church, a past member of the Ridgway Eagles and the Piedmont Club in Johnsonburg. He enjoyed going to the Casino, watching Mr. Ed and Archie Bunker, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and Lock Haven University. He was a Peacetime Veteran of the U.S. Army. He had been a school teacher for several years and then had been the owner of Aiello Amusement Co. for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Rosa Aiello of Ridgway; 1 son Frank J. Aiello and fiancee Theresa of Pittsburgh, PA; 1 daughter Mary Jo (Dan) Peterson of Ridgway; 2 grandsons Robert E. Aiello and Dane Robert Howard Peterson both of Ridgway; 1 brother David (Sylvia) Aiello of Treasure Lake, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 brothers Victor, Joseph, Arthur, Donald, Ernest, and John Aiello, 3 sisters Mary Caribardi, Eva Caribardi, and Sr. John Francis.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert F. Aiello will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating will be Fr. Justin P. Pino, Pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church, Fr. Brian Vossler, Pastor of St. George Catholic Church in Erie, and Fr. Ross Miceli, Pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Kersey. Burial will be at St. Leo Cemetery. Friends will be received at the St. Leo Gathering Space from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass at 11:00 AM.
