Obituary

Rose M. Peterson, age 98, formerly of 207 Vernon Ave., Ridgway, died Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Christ The King Manor in Dubois following a brief illness.  She was born, October 4, 1921, in Warren, PA, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Sedmak) Skerl.  She married Ervin E. Peterson in 1946, he preceded her in death on September 30, 1999.  Rose resided in Ridgway and was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church for over 60 years before moving to Dubois in 2015.  She had been employed by Wyerhauser for 12 years. Mom kept an immaculate home and had the most beautiful summer flowers.  She enjoyed baking and everyone loved her chocolate chip cookies.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially her family.  Enjoy the eternal rest, God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts.    

 

She is survived by 2 daughters:  Diane Cote of Dalton, OH and Susan (David) Lombardo of Dubois; 2 granddaughters:  Amy (Terry) Nye of Portland, OR and Lisa Geyer of Milton, FL; 1 grandson Brett (Rachel) Cote of Mason, OH; 2 great-grandchildren: Parker and Lilly Cote, and 1 nephew.  Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law:  Donald Geyer and Paul Cote; 2 brothers:  Frank and Louis Skerl; and 1 sister Mary Softich.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose M. Peterson will be celebrated at St. Leo Catholic Church on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 11:00 AM.  Officiating will be Fr. Justin P. Pino, Pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church.  Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials, if desired, can be made to the donor’s choice.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.  Share your online condolences at thompsonfuneralhomepa.com
