Obituary

Sam Guaglianone, age 95, of 318 Clarion Rd., Johnsonburg, PA, died unexpectedly, Friday January 1, 2021, at his residence.  He was born January 27, 1925, in Johnsonburg, PA, son of the late Antonio “Tony” and Mary (Servidea) Guaglianone.  He married Jeanne F. McClintock on June 1, 1952, she preceded him in death on April 5, 1998.  He resided in Johnsonburg all his life and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Johnsonburg Rotary, the Wilcox Sportsmans Club, and a past President of the PA Fish Commission.  Sam was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed polka dancing.  He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School and Bryant Stratton Business College.  He was the owner of Smith-Keats Insurance Agency for 40 years.  He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army in Germany during WW II.

 

He is survived by 1 son John S. Guaglianone of Wilcox, PA; 1 daughter Martha J. (Cal) Pflugrath of Long Beach, CA; 1 granddaughter Krista (Eric) Detwiler of Wilcox, PA; 1 grandson Samuel Pflugrath of Long Beach, CA; 2 great-grandchildren Dalton and Rylee Detwiler; his long time companion Janet Hetrick of DuBois; 2 brothers Richard Guaglianone and George (Dorothy) Guaglianone of Johnsonburg; 2 sisters Vivian (Alfred) Marrone of Johnsonburg and Jennie DePalma of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters Antoinette Marrone and Rose Camise, 2 sisters in infancy, and 2 brothers in infancy.

 

Funeral and Committal Services for Sam Guaglianone will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Johnsonburg Fire Dept. or to the Johnsonburg Community Trust.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.  Share your online condolences at thompsonfuneralhomepa.com
