Hazel Elizabeth Storrar, age 92, of 100 High Point Dr., Kane, died after a short illness at the Lutheran Home at Kane on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. She was born October 9, 1926, in Wilcox, daughter of the late Joseph Jerome and Ada Matilda (Powell) Severance. She married Christopher (Christie) “Crip” Storrar on October 4, 1947 in Kane, he preceded her in death on September 24, 2003. She resided in Wilcox all her life. She was a graduate of the Wilcox High School Class of 1943 and a member of the Wilcox Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by 4 children: Christine (Herbert) Bohley of Johnsonburg, Peggy (Charles) Hannold of Kane, Richard (Laurie) Storrar of Wilcox, and Craig Storrar of Wilcox, 7 grandchildren: Christopher Bohley, Jeremy Bohley, Matthew Kneidel, Elizabeth Kneidel Miles, David Figley, Lora Figley Arrigo, and Caylee Storrar, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Jean (Storrar) Kneidel, and her brothers and sisters Charles, Guy, Grace, Helen, Aldine, Emogene, and Burdette.
Funeral and Committal Services for Hazel Elizabeth Storrar will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Friday, February 22, 2019, at 12:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Cantaral, Pastor of the Wilcox Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Wilcox Public Library, P.O.
