Janice A. Wickwire, age 87, of 101 N. Mill St., Apt. 501, Ridgway died Wednesday morning April 12, 2017 at her residence.  She was born December 17, 1929, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Merle and Anne (Weissenfluh) Johnson.  She married Raymond M. Wickwire on August 25, 1950, he preceded her in death.  

She resided in Ridgway for many years and previously lived in Connecticut, Florida, and York, PA.  She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church.  She was a graduate of the Ridgway High School.

She is survived by 1 daughter Kim A. (Randy) Metzger of York, PA, 1 son Larry F. Wickwire of Lantz Corners, PA, 5 grandchildren:  Dawn, William, Raymond, James, and Katherine, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, 1 brother Fred (Betty) Johnson in Massachusetts, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters:  Eleanor Johnson and Alice Pennington.

A Memorial Service for Janice A. Wickwire will be held at the Ridgway High Rise Community Room on Saturday April 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be at Ott Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials, if desired, can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
