Jean E. Martin, age 85, of 603 Stonehedge Meadows, Ridgway, died Tuesday morning November 8, 2016, at her residence following a lengthy illness.  She was born April 1, 1931 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Paul H. and Twila E. (Davis) Lundin.  She married James D. Martin on November 29, 1952, he survives.  She resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a graduate of the Ridgway High School and the Hamot Hospital School of Nursing.  She was a member of the Awakening Alliance Church and participated in Bible study.  Jean enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.  She was an inspiration to all the lives she touched as she spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  She had been employed at Elk County General Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 30 years.

 

She is survived by her husband, James D. Martin of Ridgway and by the following children:  Cheryl (John) DePanfilis of Ridgway, Steve (Maureen) Martin of Ridgway, Jim (Alana) Martin of Ridgway and Donna (Joel) Feronti of Ridgway, 12 grandchildren:  John J. DePanfilis, Eric (Jennifer) DePanfilis, Christa (Tom) Buck, Steven (Allyson) Martin, Sean (Cardin) Martin, Travis Martin, Diana Martin, Stacey Martin, Seth Feronti, Logan Feronti, Carissa Imdorf and Rachael Imdorf, 10 great-grandchildren:  Ava and Emma DePanfilis, Olivia Buck, Madelynne, Charlotte and Tyler Martin, Draven, Conor and Phoenix Martin, Tanner Dickant, 1 sister Mary Linder of Lower Burrell, PA and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother Robert Lundin and 1 sister Charlotte Dietrick.

 

A Memorial Service for Jean E. Martin will be held at the Awakening Alliance Church on Thursday at 12:00 PM.  Officiating will be Rev. Don Hunter, Pastor of the Awakening Alliance Church.  Burial will be at Oakmont Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Awakening Alliance Church, Boot Jack Rd., Ridgway, PA  15853 or to the Ridgway Public Library.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
