John P. Himes, age 53, of 101 N. Mill St., Apt. 402, Ridgway, formerly of 455 Fairview Hill Rd., Ridgway, died Saturday morning at his residence following a brief illness.  He was born August 5, 1963, in Ridgway, son of Monica M. (Streich) Himes and the late Sylvester S. Himes.  He resided in Ridgway all his life and was a Graduate of the Ridgway High School.  He was Catholic by faith.  John enjoyed attending numerous NASCAR races and camping.  He had been employed by Accumet, Phoenix, and recently had worked for MPP in Ridgway for 10 years.

He is survived by his mother, Monica M. Himes of Ridgway, 1 sister Deb Himes Gnan of Ridgway, 2 nephews:  Steven Gnan, Jr of Ridgway and Andrew Gnan of Ridgway, 1 niece Jessica Gnan Miller of Ridgway, 2 great nieces:  Honey and Gemma Gnan of Ridgway and 1 great nephew Dominic Gnan of Ridgway.  He was preceded in death by his father Sylvester S. Himes, his maternal grandparents Paul E. and Isabell (Dippold) Streich, and his paternal grandmother Edna Himes.

A Memorial Service for John P. Himes will be held at a later time and date to be announced.  Officiating will be Rev. Don Hunter, Pastor of the Awakening Alliance Church.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Awakening Alliance Church, 16915 Boot Jack Rd., Ridgway, PA  15853.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
