Joseph W. Fisher, age 64, of 133 Montmorenci Rd., Ridgway, died Saturday afternoon at Snyder Memorial Health Care in Marienville.  He was born November 8, 1952, in Morgantown, WV, son of the late Ray J. and Pacific “Sis” (Pelegrini) Fisher.  He married Sandra L. Cunningham on August 5, 1978, she survives.  He had resided in Ridgway since 1985 and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.  Joe was a Graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and a Graduate of Fairmont State College in Fairmont, WV, and attended Graduate School at West Virginia University.  He was a member of the DuBois Country Club, the Elk Masonic Lodge #379 in Ridgway, the Shriners of Pittsburgh, the Ridgway Elks and Ridgway Eagles, a past Ridgway Ambulance Board Member, a past Rotary Club Member, a former Ridgway Rocket Football Coach, and a member of the Grey Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing in the Clarion River, hunting in Bradford County with his brother-in-law Alan, riding his motorcycle, Rhythm and Blues (The Billy Price Band) Music, and an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.  He had been a Nationwide Insurance Agent in Ridgway for 26 years.

 

Surviving besides his wife, Sandra L. Fisher of Ridgway are 3 daughters:  Carrie (Christopher) Matha of Ridgway, Michelle L. Fisher of Ridgway, Sarah E. (Brandon) Calhoun of Ft. Bragg, NC, 3 grandchildren:  Olivia and Kelly Matha, Isaiah Calhoun, 1 brother John (Vonda) Fisher of Mt. Morris, PA, 1 sister Beverly (Baige) Casto of Morgantown, WV, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother James Ray Fisher.

 

A Memorial Service for Joseph W. Fisher will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Friday December 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM.  Officiating will be Rev. Roger A. Peterson, Pastor of the Trinity United Methodist Church and Rev. Nicholas Keeney from Harrisburg, PA.  There will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alzheimers Association, 1600 Peninsula Dr., STE 15, Erie, PA  16505-4261 of to the Ridgway Rocket Football Team.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
