Joyce E. Amacher, age 83, of 210 Chestnut Ave., Ridgway, died Saturday morning, September 15, 2018, at her residence. She was born August 16, 1935, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Wilson) Papa. She married George Amacher, Sr. on January 15, 1955, he preceded her in death. She resided in Ridgway all of her life and was a graduate of the Ridgway High School. She was a long time member of the Faith United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her 4 children: George (Elizabeth “Beth”) Amacher, Jr. of Ridgway, Terry (Wayne “Bud”) Klawuhn of Ridgway, David (Tracey) Amacher of Ridgway, and Stephen (Tammy “Buffy”) Amacher of Ridgway, 16 grandchildren: Josh, Ben, Christie, Ashley, Lindsay, Kylee, Austin, Brandon, Brooke, Kelsey, Kendall, Kiersten, Cody, Lauren, Turner, and Cordell, 26 great grandchildren: Madison, Kaitlyn, Gabby, Joshua, Benji, Nora, Mia, Jeremiah, Thaddeus, Haylee, Jack, Luke, Keyona, Jayden, Braxton, Jacob, Antonio, Marco, Cambree, Oscar, Biancia, Zachary, Sage, Danica, Hayden, Michael, 2 sisters: Veryl Billick of Ridgway and Helen Streich of Texas, 1 brother Joseph Papa of Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Shirlee Anderson and her twin sister Janice Casolo, also a great granddaughter Amelia Streich.
Funeral and Committal Services for Joyce E. Amacher will be held at the Faith United Church of Christ on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Ronald L. Burkett, Pastor of the Hallton Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 PM. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Ridgway Ambulance Corp.
