Zane B. Fulmer, age 68, of DuBois, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday September 7, 2017 surrounded by his family after a long battle with melanoma.  He was born February 26, 1949 in Ridgway, son of the late Harry L. and Bettie M. (Bugdon) Fulmer.  He was a 1967 graduate of Ridgway High School. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Marines from 1967 to 1971 as an aerial gunner with the Marine Light Helicopter Squadron 167 in Vietnam.  After his service for his country, he met the love of his life Rebecca L. Dougherty.  They were happily married for 45 years and had 5 beautiful children:  Brandi (Shawn) Tweedle of Oregon, Jessicca (Shawn) Lauterer of California, Brooke (Greg) Carbett of Pennsylvania, Zane (Courtney) Fulmer of California, and Kyle (Jessica) Fulmer of California.  

They made their home in California where he was employed by Mare Island Naval Shipyard and McDonnell Douglas/Boeing.  In 2003 they moved to Pennsylvania.

Zane enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bicycle as well as bragging about his 11 grandchildren:  Jay, Joshua, Sarah, Justin, Courtney, Jacob, Zane, Dax, Kolt, Maddie, and Liam.  He was a member of the Hallton Church of Christ.  He was the best husband, dad, and grandpa and will be so greatly missed.

Zane was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Shawn Aaron Lauterer.

A Memorial Service for Zane B. Fulmer will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Friday September 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Military Honors accorded by the Ridgway Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Officiating will be Ronald L. Burkett, Pastor of the Hallton Church.          .  Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Hahne Regional Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA  15801
