JoRae M. Yorns, age 61, of 16 South Mill Ave., Ridgway, died Friday evening, May 12, 2017, at her residence following a brief illness.  She was born June 16, 1955, daughter of the late Norman H. and JoAnn M. (Anderson) Ross.  She married Samuel A. Yorns on September 30, 1978, he survives.  She was a 1973 graduate of the Ridgway High School and graduate of Penn State University.  She resided in Ridgway most of her life and was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  She loved flower gardening, quilting, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was the glue that held her family together.  She had been employed by Dickinson Center for 20 years and had also owned JoRae’s Quilts for 15 years.  

She is survived by her husband Samuel A. Yorns of Ridgway, 1 daughter Aimee M. (Nicholas) Pavick of Kane, 1 son Eric R. Yorns of Ridgway, 2 grandchildren:  Branden and Nathaniel, 2 sisters:  Cynthia L. (Blaine) Stebick of St. Marys and Kristen (Jeff) Sharer of Dublin, PA, 2 nieces:  Elise E. Stebick and Katherine Sharer, 1 nephew Jonathan Sharer, and her dog Maya.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son David A. Yorns.

Funeral and Committal Services for JoRae M. Yorns will be held at the Bethlehem Lutheran church on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at 11:00 AM.  Co-Officiating will be Rev. Erik Hart, Pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Edward Burkett, Pastor of New Hope in Christ Church.  Burial will follow at Oakmont Cemetery.  Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 PM.  Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 E. Eschbach Rd., St. Marys, PA  15857.
